How To Use Auricle Audiometers | New Health and Fitness

New Health And Fitness.Org - Health Information You Can Use

The main function of auricle audiometers is to check whether the child is able to hear. This is due to the point that a child who does not have good hearing capability might result in having hearing problems and might also become slow in terms of speech. In such a situation, the child will require sitting close enough to the teacher or when in the classroom, he or she might use a hearing aid.

For this reason, when you have a kid, it is important that you find an audiometer that will test the child?s capability to hear. The gadget will only take little time like seconds to perform the task. It will then indicate if your kid is able to hear well.

If you have acquired he device, all you need to do is to plug it in an electrical outlet and let its power warm up for ten minutes. Then position you child appropriately in a chair and place the device away from them where they cannot see it.

Remove any earrings or glasses if they have any and place the earphones on their ears. Make sure that they cover their ears fully. Then, instruct the child to raise their right hand up when they happen to hear a tone in the right ear. They should do the same with their other hand, when they hear a tone on the other ear.

Adjust the switch on the device and set it at 20dB. Then, turn the dial to 1000 Hz. After this, you should activate the right and left ears earphones by pushing the two buttons at the same time. When you release the buttons, activate the right and left ears separately. You should repeat this steps as you set it to 2000 Hz and 4000 Hz.

When you finish the test, you can easily tell if the child has failed or passed the auricle audiometers test. If they can hear a tone at 20dB on frequency ranging between 1000 to 4000Hz then consider it a pass. If no single tone was heard, repeat the rest.
